Playback West: is a performing group that invites audiences to tell real stories of events from their lives, and plays these out on the spot as small theatre pieces. It might be the turning point in someones family history, a mysterious and inexplicable occurrence or someones greatest dream. You might share your biggest ambition or prefer to listen to other people’s stories - participation is voluntary! This is instant raw theatre made from the stuff of real life.
Playback West was formed to help facilitate dialogue between police and young people as part of the On the Radar Project. They have gone on to perform in many contexts including the Dog Theatre, Footscray 150 Festival, Western English Language School and the Australian and New Zealand Arts Therapy Association Conference.
Playback West is available to perform at celebrations, conferences, festivals and other events. For more information or to become involved contact Cymbeline on 9362 0046 or Cymbeline@westernedge.org.au
