Blitz 3011
Young people aged between 15 and 20 live in an increasingly violent world where knives are a frightening reality. Blitz 3011 (Footscray’s postcode) is a Youth Arts Residency based in the Phoenix Youth Centre in the heart of Footscray that will combine the niche art forms of Hip Hop and Applied Theatre to allow young people to explore contemporary cultures of violence and make their own artistic response. This residency is a partnership with Maribyrnong Youth Services, and involves high calibre hip-hop artists and experienced community theatre makers working alongside young emerging, culturally diverse artists and youth participants from the local community to create a hybrid art that engages a broad youth audience.
Participate
Blitz 3011 is the sequel to the amazing Rhythms of the Streets project. It is a Hiphop Rap/Hiphop Dance/Theatre project run by Maribyrnong Youth Services and Western Edge Youth Arts based on what is happening NOW for young people aged between 12-25 in the west. It will have top Hiphop and Theatre artists working on it and will create an exciting new performance. Don't miss out. If you were involved last year, it would be great to see experienced faces there, if not we like to see new faces too!!
