It is very hard for us as youth to open our hearts … we’re looking for peace, we're really looking for good change, so we really worked hard for it.
Everything I’ve started in life I’ve come to a point where I’ve let it go – with this I had to keep going.
I learnt how to be more confident in what I do and I got some awesome new friends
I got a lot out of the project [it] gave me confidence to be able to work more professionally
Now I understand the police more and hopefully they understand us more. They didn't seem like cops.
You've changed us all, in a way
My grandparents thought I’d muck up but my grandma yeah she cried when she saw it.
It showed me that I can do more than I am doing – that I can be stronger than I already am
Art is just a great way to express feelings and you know through art you can teach people and there is no greater way.
At the end of the play when we pack up the chairs and go home it’s a bit sad to just lose the moment and you feel like you want to do another play all over again.
I will always remember Western Edge because of the exhilarating feeling when you step on stage
