Narelle Sullivan, Treasurer

Narelle Sullivan has over fifteen years experience specialising in communications and producing for arts and cultural organisations in Melbourne and internationally. Her undergraduate studies in Editing and Professional Writing coupled with her interest in left-of-centre art forms and music, led her to edit the Melbourne street paper Inpress Magazine for four years, work as Marketing Assistant and Events Publicist for the Melbourne International Festival of the Arts (1998 – 2002), and as International Publicist for The Famous Spiegeltent (2004). Most recently, Narelle was the General Manager for Big West Festival (2008 – 2010).

Narelle has consulted for a number of organisations in the areas of marketing, communications and producing. For Melbourne Fringe, Narelle managed the outdoor art installation of New York photographer Spencer Tunick, an event that involved 4,500 naked Melburnians at dawn in the middle of winter on the Princes Street Bridge.  For Gasworks Arts Park’s 2009 Art of Difference Festival, she produced the International Arts Symposium. As a marketing consultant she has worked with Western Edge Youth Arts, Theatreworks and Big West Festival.

In 2007 Narelle completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Australian Studies) through the Australia Centre at the University of Melbourne, her studies exploring the migrant experience and cultural difference in Australia through considerations of space and place. Narelle’s latest project is being a mum to her baby boy Luca, and tending her veggie patch.
